I heard club sports are very expensive.  How much will it cost to play on a Gunners Team?

The fees are very reasonable compared to other local soccer clubs.   We make every attempt to keep the cost as low as possible.

Regular Season

$750 for regular season beginning in July 2008 through November 2008.

Fees include:  league registration, field cost, team equipment, insurance, team pictures, coach and referee fees, 2 summer tournaments, League Cup tournament at seasons end and a practice tee shirt and team sweatshirt.

Off Season

Approx. $300 for January – May 2009.

Fees include:  spring league registration, coach and referee fees, and Spring Cup tournament.  Fees are calculated in January based upon the schedule for each team.

Uniform cost

$110.00 per player.  Cost will include:  1 pair of Nike shorts, one home and one away Nike jersey, one pair of red socks, one white, back pack with name and logo on front.  Quoted cost is based on youth sizes.  Adult sizes are a few dollars more.

If selected:

A registration fee of $200 is due at the time of accepting the offer.  The balance of $665 can be paid in full on June 1 or we offer a summer payment plan payable on the 1st of each month to be paid in full by September 1.

Does my child have to be an All-Star player to make the team?

No, definitely not.  We are looking for players who have a passion for the game, are athletic and trainable.  We have a highly trained staff of coaches, who have played the game themselves and can see if a player has talent for club soccer.

If my child makes the team, is there a guarantee that he/she will play in the games?

Club soccer is played at a competitive level and there aren’t any time guarantees.  Positions are earned through hard work at practice.   However, it’s to the coach’s advantage to give all of his team game time experience, especially at the level that the new teams will be coming into the program.

How often will there be practice and where will it be held?

Generally practices are held twice a week in the evening.  The teams will all have a practice field in El Segundo.

Can my child play other sports?

It’s not uncommon for children to play more than one sport.  At these age groups, it’s generally acceptable for kids to play another sport during the off soccer season, like baseball and softball.   It is not recommended that a player be involved in 2 sports during the fall soccer season.

What are the required credentials for coaches?

All coaches have at least a CYSA "E" license with several years of experience.  They have either coached within club soccer, high school or at the AYSO all star level.  Many of our coaches have played soccer themselves at a competitive level.
